Cape D'Aguilar Marine Reserve - Rich Biological Species

This place is the first marine reserve in Hong Kong.
The marine reserve extends to around 20 hectares of rocky coastline.
Its coastal features are the result of the interaction between prevailing wind, tidal actions and parent rock.
Different types of rock, such as tuffs, granodiorites, porphyritic rhyolites and basaltic dykes, can be found within the reserve.

The marine reserve features a very rich biological diversity.
There are many kinds of corals, gorgonians, fishes and marine invertebrates.

In order to protect the ecological environment of the marine reserve, water sports and coastal activities are prohibited.
Besides these, the marine reserve also featured a tiny cave and a white whale bones.

To get there, you can take the MTR to the Shau Kei Wan MTR Station and leave at Exit A3.
