Government House - Residence of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong

Constructed in 1855, this building is the official residence of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong.
The first resident of this building is Sir John Bowring and he is the first Governor of Hong Kong.
There are 25 out of 28 Governors lived in this building before Hong Kong was returned to China.

This building is full of British and Asian styles, but also full of rich colonial characteristics.
Important ceremonies are held here and it is usually being used as a place to receive VIP guests.

Every year in March or April when the azaleas is in full bloom, this building will be open free to public for visiting.
Visitors are also allowed to pass by the drawing room, dining room and ballroom where official functions are held.
The open days are generally arranged during weekends and dates are announced through press releases one week in advance.

This building is located on Upper Albert Road in Central.
To reach this place, leave the Central MTR Station via Exit K, then cross the Queens Road Central to Garden Road.
Walk along Garden Road to Upper Albert Road and you will see the building.
