Amah Rock - Wife's Love

According to an ancient legend, in this place, there was once a woman.
In order to wait for her husband to return from the sea, every day, she took her baby, climbed up the hills and went to this place.
Unfortunately, her husband was drowned and was never come back.
Taking pity on the wife's plight, the Goddess of the Sea transformed her into a rock so that her spirit can go together with her husband.

Nowadays, this rock has become a symbol of a woman's infinite patience, loyalty and faithfulness.
This rock is called "Amah Rock".
It has another name called "Mong Fu Shek", which means "stone of gazing at her husband".
Actually, it is a natural rock formation located on a hilltop within the Lion Rock Country Park.

This place is a popular tourist destination, especially for hikers.
The spectacular views of Sha Tin district can be seen from there.
