Heung Hoi Che Hong - Temple on a Boat

Located in the foothills of this mountain, there is a special temple.
The exterior appearance of this temple is just like a boat and it is also the only one of this kind in Hong Kong.

This temple was established in 1960 and its construction was made reference to the fishing vessels sailing in the South China Sea.
Besides, as it is located next to a stream, it gives us an impression that it is sailing.
So, this temple is also known as the "boat temple".

However, this temple is actually called "Heung Hoi Che Hong".
During the Buddhist festival days, some worshippers will come to this temple and pray for good luck or thanksgiving.

To get to this temple, you can take the MTR to the Tsuen Wan MTR Station and leave at Exit B1.
Then, walk across the footbridge to get to Chung On Street.
Afterwards, walk along Chung On Street to Shiu Wo Street, and take Green Minibus No.81 at Shiu Wo Street and get off at Western Monastery.

Near the minibus stop, there is a staircase going downhill.
Walk along the staircase to go down and it will lead you to this temple.
