Hong Kong Public Records Building - Data Centre for Historical Record

Established in 1972, this place was originally located at an old military cookhouse and ordnance store.
Until 1997, it was moved to present building.

This place stores and manages over one million archival records and library items.
The history of some records and items can even be dated back to the middle of 19th century.
The information of these resources is available for use by the general public.

This place is called "Hong Kong Public Records Building".
It is the first purpose-built archival facility in Hong Kong.
In order to let the public know more about the resources here, this place organizes exhibitions, seminars, workshops, visits and other educational activities in every year.
The public, such as historians, journalists, government officials, lawyers and teachers, always use the resources here.

This place is open to public from 9:00am to 5:45pm, from Mondays to Fridays.
It is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.

To get there, you can take the MTR to the Kwun Tong MTR Station and leave at Exit D1.
Then, walk along Kwun Tong Road to Tsui Ping Road.
Afterwards, walk along Tsui Ping Road to the building.
The walks take about 5 minutes.
