Lion Rock Peak - Symbol of Hardworking Spirit

This peak is a one of the most famous attraction in Hong Kong.
It is also one of the most recognizable natural landmarks in Hong Kong.
It is situated at 495 meters above the sea level.
Its high altitude made it a perfect place for enjoying the magnificent views of Hong Kong.

This peak overlooks the major residential areas of the cities in Hong Kong.
It also witnesses the development history of Hong Kong.
Gradually, it has become a symbol of the hardworking spirit of Hong Kong people.

Viewed from a distance, this peak resembles a lion sitting on a mountain.
Hence, this mountain got its name "Lion Rock" and this peak is called "Lion Rock Peak".

Lion Rock Peak is surrounded by many different trails.
Some of them are the ancient trails that have a history of over hundred years.
Back in the Qing Dynasty, these trails were the main transport passages between Shatin and Kowloon.

To get there, you can take the MTR to the Wong Tai Sin MTR Station and leave at Exit B1.
Then, walk along Lung Cheung Road to get to Chuk Yuen Road, and then Lion Rock Park.
At the right hand side of the entrance of the park, there is a trail going to the Lion Rock.

Afterwards, walk along the trail to go uphill to Maclehose Trail Section 5.

At Maclehose Trail Section 5, follow the signposts and walk along the trail to get to the Lion Rock Peak.
