Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car - The Longest Bi-cable Ropeway in Asia

Located far away from skyscrapers, this public transport offers a good opportunity for visitors to experience the city from another angle.
It was opened in 2006 and it connects a town centre and a highland on Lantau Island.
Along the way, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy great panoramic views of Lantau Island and its surroundings.
The whole journey usually takes about 30 minutes.

In order to protect the ecosystem of the island, its route is being selected very carefully by the Hong Kong Government.
The route offers lush mountain views of the island and the scenic views of the South China Sea.
Those sceneries are very beautiful.

This public transport is called "Ngong Ping 360" and it is a cable car transportation system, which connects Tung Chung and Ngong Ping.
The number 360 stands for the 360 degree view that visitors are able to enjoy from inside the cable car.
Also, its 3.5 miles long cable is said to be the longest bi-cable ropeway in Asia.

There are two types of cabins that visitors can choose: The standard cabin and the crystal cabin.
The standard one is an ordinary cable car cabin, while the crystal one is equipped with a glass floor.
The glass floor spans the entire width of the cabin floor.
It might be a little bit scary at the first moment.

On weekends or Public Holidays, Ngong Ping 360 always gets crowded.
If you want to go to Ngong Ping and do not want to queue for the cable car ride, you can take bus No.23 at the nearby Tung Chung Town Centre Bus Terminus and get off at Ngong Ping Bus Terminus.
The bus ride is cheaper but takes longer times.
It takes about 1 hour from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping.

Ngong Ping 360 is open from 10:00am to 6:00pm, from Mondays to Fridays.
On Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, it is open from 9:00am to 6:30pm.

To reach Ngong Ping 360, take the MTR to Tung Chung MTR Station and leave at Exit B.
Then, follow the signposts and walk to the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car Tung Chung Station.
