Repulse Bay Beach - Haven for Pirates

This bay is one of the most popular and beautiful bay in Hong Kong and it is also a major tourist attraction of Hong Kong.
The bay is located on the main road between Aberdeen and Stanley and it can be easily reached by public transport.

Long time ago, this bay was once a haven for pirates.
After plundering foreign merchant ships, these pirates moored their ships in this bay.
Until 1841, the British Fleet came and repulsed the pirates here.
Since then, the bay is called "Repulse Bay".

Nowadays, this bay is basically developed into a beach with artificial sand.
The shape of the beach is just like a wide crescent.
On this beach, facilities, such as shark nets and floating platforms, have been added to ensure public safety.

At the eastern end of the beach, there is a colorful garden.
The garden was built in traditional Chinese style.
In the garden, there are many statues of the deities, such as Kwun Yum and Tin Hau.
It is well worth your time if you are exploring the Chinese culture.
